Outpatient Services
For people who are unable or not wishing to attend for a full day in Day Therapy, our Out-patient facility, attached to the Day Hospice, enables patients to access medical review and various therapies by appointment.
OUT PATIENT SERVICES
Our Out-patient facility attached to the Day Hospice with a separate entrance enables us to offer the following therapies on an appointment basis:-
- Medical Review
- Physiotherapy
- Anxiety Management
- Aromatherapy
- Reflexology
- Lymphoedema Management
- Counselling
The Lymphoedema clinic operates on three days a week.
Referral criteria for Lymphoedema management is as follows:
- Aged 18 or over
- Diagnosed as having a life-threatening condition
- Diagnosed as having Secondary Lymphoedema
- Person wishes to attend and is able to travel to the clinic
Referrals to the out-patient lymphoedema service are welcome from GPs, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Hospital medical staff on completion of a referral form.
- Initial assessments are carried out at Woodlands out-patient unit.
- Ongoing monitoring of lymphoedema at Woodlands as required.
- Treatment is reviewed regularly and GPs and referrer informed of outcome.
- Referrer notified of discharge
- Re-referral if required.
Referrals for other therapies e.g Breathlessness management, Counselling, Acupuncture or other Complementary Therapies are received via the Day Therapy service and an appointment arranged.
A Medical out-patient clinic is held weekly.
A Pain Clinic is held weekly.
