Bereavement Support

A Bereavement Group is held monthly at the Hospice

Bereavement Group

The Group gives an opportunity for family members and friends who have been bereaved, to meet at the Hospice and gain practical and emotional support from staff and other people who may be experiencing similar feelings.

A bereavement is a unique experience for each individual and those who attend may be at different stages of their grief

The Group is very informal and welcoming providing an opportunity for mutual support and understanding.

All bereaved families of people who have attended the hospice will receive an invitation to attend the group approximately 8 weeks after their bereavement.

Should a family or individual not feel able to attend at that point the invitation to attend is left open for whenever feels the right time for that person.

The Bereavement Group is held on the 1st Wednesday in the month from 10am -12noon.

Should bereavement become more complex, we have a bereavement counsellor who will see the carer at the Hospice or in their home.

Support is also available form the Family Support Worker and Pastoral Support Worker.
