About Woodlands Hospice

Two trees at the side of a river Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust was established in 1991 and opened its doors to patients in 1996.

Great emphasis is placed upon tailoring the care offered to meet the needs of the individual with the aim of enhancing quality that person's quality of life.

The Hospice's name is not without significance as trees rarely grow in splendid isolation and therefore the symbol of Woodlands Hospice is a small cluster of trees - representing our involvement with the person, their family and their carers.

Chairman's message

I am delighted as Chairman of Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust to be given the opportunity to welcome visitors to the Hospice's own website.

This web site provides some insight into Woodlands Hospice's work.

We have included our Mission, details of our Clinical Services and Facilities, how you can support and contact us as well as answer some of your frequently asked questions.

Woodlands Hospice has a cheerful purpose built centre alongside the University Hospital Aintree and our concern is always to provide appropriate services that ensure people with a life threatening illness within this community live independently at home for as long as possible.

For those who are visiting our website for the first time, we hope that you will enjoy learning about our work, will want to know more - and so we look forward to hearing from you soon.
