The Trustees, Management and Organisation
Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust is established by Trust Deed and there are 13 Trustees. The Chairman is also Chairman of the Walton Centre NHS Trust and the Vice-Chairman a local G.P. Other Trustees include a retired Consultant General Surgeon, a retired Solicitor, an accountant, a former Director of Social Services, a member of the Clergy, a senior manager and former non-executive Directors and members of Health Authorities/Trusts.
Legal advice and Audit services are obtained from independent firms.
The Trust’s Management Team consists of the Medical Director, Clinical Manager and General Manager. The Team is responsible to the Trustees corporately and individually.
The Medical Director, Dr Ged Corcoran, is a Consultant physician specialising in Palliative Care.
The Clinical Manager, Mrs Tilly Reid, is a State Registered Member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists.
The General Manager, Colin Smith, has a Diploma in Health Services Management and was formerly an Executive Director of an NHS Trust.
Each of the Management Team has extensive experience of working in the Health Sector and between them can demonstrate substantial knowledge in Clinical matters, planning, general management, NHS Policy, staff management, risk management, IT and the development of capital schemes.
