Capital Appeal
Help Us To Raise £2 Million!
The Woodlands Hospice Appeal is a capital appeal to raise £2 million to build a new unit with sixteen beds connected to the existing day hospice.
It has always been our hope, since we first built the day hospice in 1996, that we could, in the future, provide beds for the patients of North Merseyside. Currently, when the patients we are treating need bedded care, they have to be transferred back to the specialist, palliative, care ward within the main Aintree Hospital.
Whilst the care the patients receive on the ward is very good, it is not the "home" environment we try so hard to create within the hospice setting. The transfer away from the hospice to a different location, at a time of greatest anxiety to patients and their families, is a situation we would like very much to avoid.
As a registered charity, we will have to raise the funds we need, over the next two years, entirely from the support of individuals, companies, charitable trusts and foundations, and community events. It is hoped that the success of the appeal will enable us to build, and open, this new unit in 2007.
Donations from individuals, trusts and companies are crucial to us being able to achieve our appeal target.
A small number of substantial donations, in the early stages of the appeal, would give the Woodlands Hospice Appeal a significant boost and assist us in approaches to other supporters and funders.
