Clinical Services

Woodlands Hospice is an independent charity situated in the grounds of University Hospital Aintree and serves a population of 330,000 in South Sefton, North Liverpool and Knowsley.

The Hospice provides Specialist Palliative care for people living with life-threatening illness, taking into account their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. Care is provided by a multi-professional clinical team and includes support for families and carers both individually and via the Carers’ support group.

For patients unable to travel to the Hospice, the Community Outreach team is able to offer therapies at home.

Philosophy of Care
Woodland’s Philosophy of Care was written and agreed by the staff in 1996 and applies to all areas of the Hospice. It is reviewed annually:

The Original Woodlands Hospice website was dedicated to Jane Evans, a former Woodlands Hospice guest who's family very generously set-up, provided and hosted the website. Woodlands Hospice is forever grateful and indebted to Jane's family for their support and generosity.
