OUT PATIENT SERVICES
The Out-patient facility, attached to the Day Hospice offers access to physiotherapy, aromatherapy, reflexology stress management, acupuncture, counselling and lymphoedema management. The Lymphoedema clinic operates on three days per week and receives more than 100 new referrals a year.
Patients may attend for:-
- Medical Review
- Physiotherapy
- Anxiety Management
- Aromatherapy
- Reflexology
- Lymphoedema Management
- Counselling
Our Out-patient facility attached to the Day Hospice with a separate entrance enables us to offer these therapies on an appointment basis.
The Lymphoedema clinic operates on three days a week and receives more than 100 new referrals a year.
Referral criteria for Lymphoedema management is as follows:
- Aged 18 or over
- Diagnosed as having a life-threatening condition
- Diagnosed as having Secondary Lymphoedema
- Person wishes to attend and is able to travel to the clinic
Referrals to the out-patient lymphoedema service are welcome from GPs, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Hospital medical staff on completion of a referral form.
- Initial assessments are carried out at Woodlands out-patient unit.
- Ongoing monitoring of lymphoedema at Woodlands as required.
- Treatment is reviewed regularly and GPs and referrer informed of outcome.
- Referrer notified of discharge
- Re-referral if required.
Referrals for other therapies e.g Breathlessness management, Counselling, Acupuncture or other Complementary Therapies are received via the Day Therapy service and an appointment arranged.
A Medical out-patient clinic is held weekly.
