Donations
You can give a one-off donation, including donating online, or sign up for our Regular Giving Scheme.
The Hospice is also able to claim Gift Aid - an extra income from the Government in tax which has already been paid thereby increasing the value of your donation by 28p for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you.
You might also consider Payroll Giving where regular gifts are deducted from your salary. This form of donation
attracts tax relief if the donor joins a payroll-giving scheme.
This is the simplest and most effective way for employees (and those receiving a company pension) to give to charity direct from their pay packet. It is tax effective because the amount you decide to give is deducted from your salary before your tax is calculated. So every £1 you give will only cost you 78p in reality. The tax savings are even greater for higher rate tax-payers.
Donation Boxes
You can place a Donation Box in a shop or business near your home.
Or do you have any contacts who may be interested?
You could take a Home Collection Box or help to place them.
Or how about a Loose Change Box for all of that annoying loose change? You can keep it on your desk at work, on your dresser in the bedroom, by the phone, or take to your church/luncheon or retirement clubs. Alternatively, perhaps you would like to help place the boxes with family, friends, neighbours or colleagues.
If you know of anyone who may be interested in placing a Donation Box, please let us know as these boxes provide us with a valuable and regular source of income.
Giving your Tax Repayment to Charity
This year, for the first time, you can donate all or part of your tax repayment to a charity of your choice using your Self-Assessment return. Charities taking part in this scheme have been given a unique code number. The list of charities and their code numbers is at www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/charities/charities-search.
Woodlands Hospice has signed up to take part in this scheme.
Legacies
Legacies are vital to the future of Woodlands Hospice
By making a bequest, you will be safeguarding that future - leaving a lasting reminder of your gift of a lifetime.
It doesn't matter how large or small the amount, it will be a valuable, and much appreciated, contribution to our ongoing work.
If you would like to make any form of donation, or perhaps place a donation box, please do not hesitate to contact the Fundraising Department on 0151 529 2630.
