Patient Quotes
An annual survey assessing the satisfaction of the 100 families who regularly attend Woodlands Hospice justifies the pride the staff, and volunteers, have in the services they provide. We would like to share some of the feedback from patients endorsing this.
"I do look forward to my visit each Tuesday. It's good to meet a group of people in the same situation as one's self. It's such a cheerful day."

Woodlands Hospice Poem
I first went in November on a fine bright autumn day
Confused by all the 'avenues', I completely lost my way
I drove into a woodland where the trees had shed their leaves
And ended in a cul-de-sac I thought I'd never leave.
I couldn't turn around, so I reversed the whole way back
A metaphor, you can be sure for my crazy life-long knack
Of losing my direction and finding something more,
I was looking for alternatives in medicine and in life.
You can be sure I found it beyond the surgeon's knife.
For Woodlands, when I found it, was a wonderful surprise
It offers such alternatives and doesn't compromise.
It's where we all confront our fears in friendship, hope and care.
It's where we redefine the years before cancer led us there,
It isn't just the treatment, though that itself is fine
It's the friendships which develop and amazingly combine
To make Thursdays so important and, like trees within the wood,
The seeds we plant together there grow for the greater good,
Of the future and the present so vital to us all
It's what we leave behind us that our loved ones will recall.
We all are blessed by Woodlands as we move from dark to light
We're all aware how much we share and we WON'T give up the FIGHT.
