Take on our CHANGE CHALLENGE!!

Did you know that the old round-pound coin ceases to be legal tender on 15th October 2017?

So, to help you clear out your piggy banks and stop any of your loose change going to waste, we’re challenging YOU to take on our CHANGE CHALLENGE to collect as many old round pound coins as you can and donate them to Woodlands Hospice before 10th October 2017!

How can your change make a change?

Piggy Pounds 10
  • For just £10 of your old £1 coins –  you could help towards some craft materials for children of patients who are receiving support from our Family Support Team.
Piggy Pounds15
  • For just £15 of your old £1 coins –  you could help towards a physiotherapy session to help a patient feel more comfortable and improve mobility.
Piggy Pounds 16
  • If you collect £16 worth of old pound coins – you could help towards our specialist palliative care nurse’s who care for patients on our ward helping to reduce pain and anxiety.

How can I donate my old £1 Coins?

  • Drop your £1 coins off at Woodlands Hospice – a member of our Fundraising Team will be happy to collect them from you.
  • Drop your £1 coins off at any of our Charity Shops – these are located in Old Swan, Moss Lane and Maghull. (Click here to view the full addresses for each store)
If for any reason, you can’t drop off your donation, please call our Fundraising department on 0151 529 2968 and we may be able to arrange collection.

We ask that all old pound coins are donated on or before Tuesday 10th October to allow us time to process the donations before they cease to be legal tender on Sunday 15th October.

So what are you waiting for…Start looking down the back of that sofa for any old pound coins and help us make a change!

Schools and Businesses can get involved too!

If you think your school or business would be able to help in our CHANGE CHALLENGE then we’d love to hear from you! Perhaps your employees have a competitive edge where they can compete with each other to raise the most cash!? Or your child’s school would be willing to get each child to bring an old pound in for Woodlands!?

Please contact Christine Peach on 0151 529 8117 to register your interest and we’ll be happy to support you in taking on our challenge!
