Grants Manager

20 hours per week (Full Time Equivalent 37.5 hours)

Salary Scale £21,916 - £26,496 per annum, pro rata (Woodlands Payscale Points 18-22)

We are looking for a Grants Manager to join our dynamic Fundraising Team to develop and grow our trusts and grants portfolio. The successful applicant will be responsible for researching and submitting regular applications to increase income from these sources.

Candidates must have the following experience and skills:

  • Developing and writing successful business plans / funding bids / tender applications
  • Working to agreed targets and deadlines through effective time management and prioritisation
  • Ability to identify fundraising opportunities within trusts and foundations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral

Lottery Manager

37.5 hours per week

Salary £21,916 to £26,496 per annum (Depending on experience) Woodlands Payscale points 18-22

Woodlands Hospice is on a mission to increase its lottery membership to ensure additional vital funds are raised for the care of patients in North Liverpool, South Sefton and Kirkby in Knowsley.

We are actively seeking a dynamic, engaging sales person whose remit is to recruit high numbers of new members and to retain players to ensure continued growth.

The successful candidate must have

  • A proven track record of achieving income targets, preferably within a sales environment  
  • Excellent communication skills with a warm personable approach.

Fundraising Events and Challenges Manager

17.5 hours per week (37.5 WTE)

Salary Scale £21,916 - £26,496 per annum, pro rata (Woodlands Payscale Points 18-22)

We have an exciting role within our Fundraising Department responsible for engaging with our communities and supporters to encourage them to support and participate in a wide variety of events to raise much needed funds for the hospice. From hospice events such as golfing days and sponsored walks to challenge events such as runs, walks, abseils, skydives - all will be part of the role.  

The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and networking skills, be ambitious and enthusiastic and have experience of organising, managing and delivering events. Marketing to a targeted audience, with a proven track record of achieving fundraising income targets would be desirable.

(Bank) Charity Shop Manager

Casual hours - as and when required (Monday – Saturday, 9am – 5pm)

Salary £18,066 per annum, pro rata - £9.26 per hour - Woodlands Payscale point 13​

We are looking to recruit a (Bank) Charity Shop Manager to help cover staff absences such as holidays, sickness and training. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a retail environment and will be able to efficiently manage the day to day running of the shop including managing the shop volunteers.

The successful candidate must

  • enjoy providing excellent customer service
  • have excellent interpersonal and people skills
  • be familiar with sales, budgets and financial targets
  • have an enthusiastic, positive and professional image

As a flexible, key member of our Trading Team, you must be willing, and have transport, to travel to any of our charity shops in the local community.

Bank Housekeeper

Casual, as and when required, £8.91 per hour

We are looking for a number of (bank) housekeepers to join our Housekeeping team, to cover annual leave, sickness and other absences on a casual basis.

Applicants must ensure that the highest possible standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation are maintained at all times throughout the hospice and have the following attributes

  • Previous housekeeping/­cleaning experience
  • Relevant H&S and COSHH knowledge
  • Caring approach and ability to work with patients in a palliative care setting
  • Able to work on their own and as part of a team
  • Flexibility

The working patterns are variable over 7 days as below  

7.00am – 9.00am (weekdays)

7.00am – 11.00am (weekdays)

8.00am – 1.00pm (7 days a week)

3.30pm – 7.00pm (7 days a week)

Bank Cook

Casual, as and when required, £9.26 per hour

We are looking to recruit a (Bank) Cook to join our Catering Team, to cover annual leave, sickness and other absences on a casual basis. The successful applicant will have

  • NVQ level 2 in Professional Cookery & Food & Beverage Service – or equivalent
  • Two years experience in a cook or assistant cook position
  • Experience of cooking fresh produce
  • Confident preparing and cooking a full range of nutritional meals.
  • Preparing special dietary meals
  • Stock storage and rotation

Shifts are variable over 7 days covering the hours of 7.45am – 6pm, including weekends and bank holidays. There may also be opportunities for short term, Fixed Term Contracts for long term absences as and when required.
