Woodlands Hospice is encouraging workplaces, schools and community groups to take part in its ‘Bring a Pound to Work Day’ on Friday 28 February.
A first for the charity, the Woodlands Hospice Bring a Pound to Work Day is a simple way for people to join together and help it continue its free-of-charge service to the community.
Prescot engineering firm Central Group is already signed up to take part. “It’s fantastic to be able to support Woodlands Hospice,” said Operational Support Manager Liam Brown. “Working with their dedicated and passionate staff is a pleasure. This facility is an incredibly valuable asset to the community, and our team are looking forward to taking part in this campaign later this month.”
There are a number of ways groups can get involved, from each person bringing in a £1 coin to linking their donations to their own workplace events.
Woodlands Hospice Community Fundraising Manager Paula Parle said: “Businesses already holding their own Friday events could link these to ‘Bring a Pound to Work Day’ -- dress-down, bake sale and raffle days, are all perfect to include. It’s entirely up to each school or workplace how they organise their day.
“Whether two or 220 people take part, £1 coins all add up and will help us raise the £4,000 we need each day to continue our efforts in providing best-quality, free-of-charge specialist care for our patients, as well as the all-important support for their families.”
