The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Roz Gladden, visited Woodlands Hospice today accompanied by her daughter Michelle O’Dwyer who is her Lady Mayoress. During the visit time was given to chatting with a number of staff, volunteers and patients.
Rose Milnes, Chief Executive at the Hospice said: “We are very grateful to the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress for taking time out of their busy schedule to come along to the Hospice and see first-hand the services provided to local people and their families; such visits are very important as they help boost the morale at what is often a very difficult time and also help to raise the profile of local Hospices such as Woodlands and the ever challenging demands to raise monies.
During her visit Councillor Gladden said she had thoroughly enjoyed her visit to the Hospice and was quite struck by the positivity and happiness which she felt across the Hospice. She observed the Hospice appeared to be a place for living and was delighted to speak with patients who benefited from the services. Both the Lord Mayor and The Lady Mayoress expressed their intention to keep in touch with the Hospice and watch our progress.
