On Saturday 27th July 2019, Woodlands Hospice was in attendance for the Liverpool Pride March 2019 which took place in Liverpool city centre. The march was attended by Staff and Volunteers from Woodlands who turned up to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community.
The march itself had over 12,000 people taking part, making it a record breaking number this year. The march started at St. George’s Hall and went through the centre of the city before finishing at Tithebarn Street where a festival was taking place with live music and celebrations!
Paula Parle, the Community Fundraising Manager for Woodlands and who organised the attendance of Woodlands Hospice had this to say about the march…
‘It was wonderful to see so many colleagues, volunteers and friends of Woodlands attend the march on Saturday. We proudly supported our LGBTQ+ patients, colleagues and community and loved being a part of Liverpool Pride 2019. Roll on Pride 2020!’
Despite the wet weather, there was a sea of colour and rainbows and everyone had a great time in helping out.
