Woodlands Hospice welcomes Everton Football Club ambassadors

Everton Football Club ambassadors Graham Stuart and Ian Snodin called in to Woodlands Hospice on Thursday 12 December, in their annual visit to the Woodlands Hospice. The pair spoke with those on the Inpatient Ward as well as patients at the Christmas party the charity arranges each year.

Ian Snodin and Graham Stuart spent around two hours chatting with inpatients, as well as more than 40 outpatients who were attending the annual Christmas party put on for them by the charity.

Graham said: “It’s fantastic to visit Woodlands Hospice patients and staff at this time of year – we’ve been visiting for years and over that time have built real rapport with the staff. The patients and their families are always so complimentary about the care they receive here during what is such a difficult time in their lives. We just hope to add a little bit of Christmas cheer for them all.”

Patients were delighted to see Graham and Ian – they were keen to talk with them as well as having their photos taken with the duo.

“It’s such a delight each year to welcome Graham and Ian to Woodlands Hospice, said Carole Riley, Woodlands Hospice Individual Giving Manager. “They have such a natural warmth and it’s wonderful to watch patients’ faces light up when they see them. These visits really do brighten the days of our patients and we very much appreciate how, as Everton Football Club ambassadors, they give so much of their time on these days.”

A number of Everton Football Club-themed items were given by Graham and Ian as Christmas gifts for Woodlands Hospice patients.
