Here at Woodlands Hospice we are very proud of our in-house Housekeeping Team.
Led by our Catering & Facilities Manager Chris Duffy, the team works tirelessly to keep all areas of the Hospice spotlessly clean and hygienic. The Team is always flexible and able to respond quickly to any situation.;
Following a routine inspection in May 2016 The Care Quality Commission, said:
“At this inspection, we saw the environment was clean and well maintained. The cleaning staff we spoke with knew the procedures to follow to prevent the spread of infection and we saw cleaning take place throughout our inspection. There were appropriate cleaning policies and procedures in place, making use of colour coded systems to help prevent the spread of infection”.
Patients and their families often enjoy a friendly chat with the housekeepers each day. One card sent to ward staff said:
“…Thanks to all staff for the fantastic treatment I have received at this Hospice. I would not have been better looked after in a 5 star hotel. The food and general cleanliness has been outstanding”.
In the 2016 Patient & Family Satisfaction Survey 100% of people who responded to the question
“How would you rate cleanliness at the Hospice?” replied “Excellent” or “Good”.
Comments received included:
“Gold medal standard”.
“Happy, clean and relaxing place to attend”.
“…cleaning staff were brilliant”.
