Comments and compliments

Our dad was cared for back in 2012 in woodlands where he passed. The support we received from everyone at the hospice was amazing and I honestly don’t think we would have got through without all your amazing staff. I don’t think our family could ever thank you enough for the respect and dignity our dad was shown, nothing was ever too much for the staff. We are holding a charity night and we want all the proceeds to go to woodlands

“Dad spent his final 3 days at woodlands. He didn’t have much appetite but the chef always came in and asked him what he felt like eating, encouraged him and made whatever her asked for . Amazing place."

Mmmm you have to taste Billy’s strawberry tarts and swan cream cakes.”

“Impressed by quality of care being given by the Hospice at Home team to mum."

“As I’ve said to you before, the group means more to people than you think. Well it does for me anyway. I always leave it with humour and hope in my heart.”

“Pass on love and gratitude and absolue admiration for all who work at Woodlands and cause it to be the incredible place that is.  Even when its incredibly tough and you all have days when you don’t think you can cope anymore, please know that the work you do for so many families is so appreciated and they would simply be lost without you.  You are all fab!”

“Thank you for looking after my are for the last few years."

“Woodlands is superlative in every aspect, makes a very difficult and sad occasion bearable. Can’t think of any to improve this wonderful service, an absolute joy in every aspect. Well done Woodlands!!”

Very welcoming and friendly when first met, privacy was important always showed respect and care.  Staff listened and would not give impression of spam, took time to all questions . Most important to be involved in decisions about care and needs met not just on first day, overall excellent service with caring staff.  I wish all services would take some hints from your services”

“The care and support of her and the family was absolutely amazing.”

"We can’t thank you enough for everything you do for our dad. We will never forget how kind you have been to us and him during this difficult time.”

"I am so sad to be leaving you all at woodlands. It has been my favourite placement and you have all taken me in under your wing, welcomed me and taught me so much. You all do such an amazing job and I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to have a placement alongside such a wonderful team."

“Thanks for what you all do.”

“To the angels without wings, thank you all so much for the loving care and kindness you gave to my loving husband and a dad. You helped us get through the last days he had in the hospice. It was so sudden, we thought we had a little more time to share with him but it was not meant to be. We know he did not suffer, he went so peacefully.”

“To be honest I don’t even know how to put it into words what an amazing place Woodlands Hospice is.  My mum was brought in before Christmas and passed away at the beginning of January.  During her stay the staff were absolutely brilliant and treated my mum with so much dignity and looked after me too as I was there literally everyday as well as sleeping over too. Even on Christmas Day they gave me a Christmas dinner so that I could have it with my mum.  The Palliative care nurses and doctors were so lovely too and kept us updated constantly and were so supportive when they were telling us bad news, she didn’t have long left and the processes after she had passed away too.  Woodlands is one of those places you would assume because it’s a hospice it would be a very sad place but it really isn’t the garden, the grounds and the staff just make it a very peaceful place to be and im so glad my mum was there as she was shown the upmost respect until she passed which helps me to feel more at peace now she has gone.  After, the staff sent cards, letters etc to say they hoped I was ok and sent me the contact details if I needed support.  We got invited to a ‘Celebration of Life’ ceremony which was very emotional but lovey!  Understandably I was very emotional as I hadn’t been back since my mum had passed.  Straight away staff members came over to me who remembered us  which I thought was amazing, considering more than 7 months since I had been there.  I really can’t thank Woodlands enough for everything they have done for me, my mum and my family and I will never forget it!”
