More and more people are making the choice to give to a charity in lieu of gifts for special occasions. You could choose Woodlands Hospice to receive donations in lieu of gifts for a forthcoming Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding or Civil Partnership.
Perhaps you are remembering a ‘loved one’ you have lost around their anniversary or birthday. If so you could remember them whilst helping the hospice through a donation.
You can create your own personal fundraising page for your ‘special’ occasion. This will give you the opportunity to personalise the page and see the donations and messages that come in. When you have set up the page you can then share the link via your social media etc. Once your page is set up, we will receive an email notification.
Fundraise on Social Media
For a meaningful birthday celebration this year, consider organising a birthday fundraiser on social media. It's a simple and efficient method to request important donations for Woodlands Hospice.
You can start your birthday fundraiser a month before your actual birthday if your social media account has your birth date registered.
You can also use Facebook to fundraise for Woodlands Hospice in celebration of any kind of occasion! All you have to do is:
- Follow the link to our Facebook page and click on the ‘Fundraisers’ button at the top of the page and then click the 'Raise money' button at the top right of the page.
- Set your fundraising target and explain why you are us.
- Share your fundraiser on your feed for everyone to see!

Tap
at the bottom or swipe right anywhere in Feed.
- Create or choose your image and tap Next.
- Crop and filter your post, and then tap Next.
- Tap Add fundraiser.
- Select the charity that you want to fundraise for. Tap Edit fundraiser to go to the Fundraiser details page.
- Enter the details for your fundraiser and then tap Done.
- Tap Share.
How to extend your Instagram fundraiser
- On Instagram, tap to open the post with the fundraiser that you want to extend.
- Tap
on Android or
on iPhone in the top right.
- Tap Extend fundraiser.
- Tap Extend fundraiser.
Extension rules
- You cannot extend your fundraiser unless the fundraiser's end date is within 30 days.
- If your fundraiser is set to end in less than 30 days, you can extend it straight away, but only once.
After you've created your fundraiser, you can post it to other Instagram accounts or tag it in other Instagram posts.
Pay in your donations
Thank you for choosing to donate to Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust – we couldn’t do what we do without you. There are a range of ways that you can pay in your donations.
Online
Use our website to pay in your donations online. Please tell us how you raised the money so we can ensure we thank you accordingly.
Cheque
Cheques made out to Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust can be sent to: Woodlands Hospice, AUH Campus, Longmoor Lane, Liverpool, L9 7LA.Bank transfer
Please phone us or email and we’ll provide you with our bank details. Please use a clear reference that identifies the funds as yours. We will also ask you to confirm the amount you are paying in.Card
Please phone us on 0151 529 2630 with your card details and we’ll be able to take your donation over the phone. Whatever way you choose to pay in your donations, please make sure you let us know about it. This allows us to trace your contribution, and more importantly ensures that your generosity receives the acknowledgement it deserves.And don't forget, do let us know what you're doing and tell us if you set up any online pages to collect donations!
