Public Collections

Last year we raised over £25,000 in public collections and events and we are excited to do as many public collections as we can again in 2025 to help raise funds for Woodlands Hospice.

If you can spare a few hours (usually 2 hour shifts) on any of the following dates, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Saturday 16th August - John Lewis (Liverpool One) - 10am to 8pm

  • Sunday 31st August - Croxteth Hall Makers Market - 1pm to 3pm

  • Friday 26th September - Asda Aintree - 10am to 4pm

  • Friday 31st October - Firwood Rugby Club - 7.30pm to 9pm

  • Saturday 29th November - Central Station Liverpool - 2 hour shifts available: 10am to 6pm

What is involved in a Public Collection

Our collection volunteers are in pairs and are allocated a two-hour shift, which involves taking cash donations from the public in our collection buckets or tap machine. Our collections may be at a supermarket or outdoor, supporting choirs or performers at local events.

Our collection volunteers find it so rewarding when we let them know how much each collection raised, as they can see how a little bit of their time helped their local hospice in such a big way.

If you're a supermarket community champion or work in a garden centre, theatre or venue with lots of foot fall please get in touch with our Community Partnerships Manager, Wendy Williamson:

📧 wendy.williamson@liverpoolft.nhs.uk   |   📞 0151 529 2640   |   📱 07955 282148

On these days, we often set up a small table to raise awareness of our cause and the services we provide to give the day a real community feel.
